ADORATION

St. Peter's ChapelEucharistic adoration is one of the many ways that our fraternity seeks to share our gift of faith with others. Every third Wednesday night of every month, between the time of 8:00pm-9:00pm at the chapel of St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, we host a Eucharistic adoration hour. It is open to the public and we invite all to spend one hour with the Lord.

Eucharistic adoration is special time of divine intimacy with the Lord, of loving the Lord, of being in His presence, communicating with Him, receiving His blessings and graces and so much more. As the Servant of God Pope John Paul II stated in his encyclical letter, Ecclesia De Eucharistia (Church of the Eucharist), "The Eucharist is a priceless treasure: by not only celebrating it but also by praying before it outside of Mass we are enabled to make contact with the very wellspring of grace" (25). Christ is truly present in the chapel, He desires for us to spend time with Him, to simply be with Him, to love Him, to grow in our love for Him.

Christ has given Himself to us with the gift of the Eucharist. As Catholics we believe that during Mass at the moment of consecration, when the priest holds the communion host and says, "...He took the bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread, gave it to his disciples, and said: Take this all of you, and eat it. This is my body which will be given up for you." It is at this point where the miracle of transubstantiation occurs, where the bread and wine become the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, "The Eucharist is "the source and summit of the Christian life." "The other sacraments, and indeed all ecclesiastical ministries and works of the apostolate, are bound up with the Eucharist and are oriented toward it. For in the blessed Eucharist is contained the whole spiritual good of the Church, namely Christ himself, our Pasch." (1324) We encourage everyone to make an effort to some time to spend with He who calls us, invites us and desires our presence with Him.
